New Zealand Conservative v3

OK guys, I'm trying a new template out. It will take a while to set up completely, but in moments you will see the foundation.

Is this a better look than the previous template? Please feel free to leave a comment on this vital topic. It's not as if anything else important is happening tonight.

The old template layout is below for comparison:

  1. This one's really nice, can ya make it display wider too? That'd be great, if possible.

  2. Yeah, I want it to be wider too. The issue seems to be not just code, but extending the width of some of the graphics, as they have created the horizontal lines at a set width.

Same issue as the last one. This time, I may persevere and see if I can stack a chunk of it multiple times according to the total screen width.

  4. rofl!
    I like it.Reminds me of..oh, I dunno..old scrolls recovered from a pirate's coffin or something.
And easy on the eyes, too.
You could call it the Ded See Scrolls template perhaps?

  5. Very nice -

One suggestion though why not frame the posts with the side bar stuff

Ie latest comments on the left of the post and the other sidebar stuf on the right or vice versa, whatever rocks your boat.

  6. Thanks. Once I have the basic stuff working again (there is a long list of stuff that is now broken) I will try to improve the layout.

A template is a good starting point, but it is never the final destination. My CSS skills are very rudimentary though, so this will be a bit of a journey.

  7. V2 was better. This one just looks like a standard skin that comes with the program. V1 was better than this also sorry. It had some originality.

i have to go through other means.

  9. I reckon ya need a banner image. A country church might be nice. Also try these templates, they are "cleaner" and more professional-looking.

  10. Sorry Mr Tips, I'll fix that tonight. It's on the list.

Before I get too carried away with other enhancements and fixes, I'd like as much feedback about the templates as possible. I appreciate everyone's comments so far, both the for and against.

Tonight I'll find a few more templates (and review Ropata's) and put them up in a post and run a vote.

Blog author opinions count as 30 points and have a veto power (just like the Security Council on the United Nations :^| ).

Regular commenters I like count as 10 points. All others count as one point.

Vote for your second preference as well - maybe I'll instigate an STV!

Bottom line - need the three column layout, not two.

I will look favourably on ones that use the full screen width out of the box, and the template style needs to look distinctive and suit NZ Conservative (whatever that is supposed to mean).

  11. I really like this template, but appreciate that it needs to work as well. I think it must the link in with Vatican template that did it for me (it a very subconscious way until I thought about why I had the positive association with it).

  12. Noooooo. I found this template about a month ago and saved it with a view to using it on MandM....

It looks awful. Doesn't suit NZ Conservative at all.... LOL!
