Obama, flushed with the success of talking about a US Free Nuclear Zone, is keen also to try diplomacy to convince Iran not to pursue its nuclear ambitions. So, with words of friendship and hints of peace, he charms his way into the hearts of the Iranian leadership. It's just another campaign trail speech, really.
And President Ahmadinejad said: "Change means giving up your satanic, coercive and aggressive ways."
Roll over Obama.
Iran will have nuclear weapons, irrespective of how many nukes America decommissions. You don't even need hindsight to figure this out.
Unfortunately, the luxury of hindsight is not something Israel will afford itself. Also unfortunately, any foresight they display will not be acknowledged in hindsight by others. If Obama continues on this path of appeasement, Israel will be the one who pays, whether they act with foresight, or suffer in hindsight.
They must be feeling very alone right now. Israel in a corner is not a place anyone in the world should want them to be.
