Paint it black white

Obama's Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu, has a new proposal to save the planet.

Everybody should paint their roof white, to relect the suns incident energy back into space thus helping to keep our overheating  globe cool.
Speaking at the opening of the St James’s Palace Nobel Laureate Symposium, for which The Times is media partner, Professor Chu said that this approach could have a vast impact. By lightening paved surfaces and roofs to the colour of cement, it would be possible to cut carbon emissions by as much as taking all the world’s cars off the roads for 11 years, he said.
Eggheads should engage their brains before opening their mouths. White buildings are already common in sunnier climes, to help keep them cool - but makes zero sense in places where home heating is already a significant part of the household budget. Has the good professor never heard of solar heating?

Obama sure knows how to pick 'em.
